Rules and Regulations

The following rules and regulations’ have been laid out with the aim of creating consistency in regard to how leagues are run and how business practices are undertaken. All teams are required to read through and sign the contract when all rules and regulations are understood and agreed to.

League fees:

1. The Old Parks leagues are 9-week leagues consisting of 10 teams where your team will play every team once during the season. Each week your team will have 1 game on a specific night. Each game will cost R450 unless your team has taken advantage of a special that may be available in regard to paying a discounted fee for the season upfront. If you want to know more regarding these specials, please feel free to inquire with the managers/owners of the Old Parks arena.

2. At Old Parks we have a strict ‘NO PAY = NO PLAY’ policy meaning that unless you pay the required fee BEFORE the game starts, you will not be allowed onto the fields and your team will be penalized by 1 goal for every 2 minutes the game is delayed. When you have sorted out the required payment, you will receive a game token that needs to be given to the ref for the game to commence.

3. No outstanding balances will be carried into the new seasons. All outstanding balances must be settled on or before the final night to secure entry for the next league.

Games and league Rules:

1. Please familiarize yourself with our 5 a side rule book. It is your responsibility to familiarize yourself and your team with our rules before you arrive for your first game. You may request a digital copy of the rule book, or you can view a hard copy at the clubhouse.

2.
Please note team captains will be required to sign off your game scoresheet with the referee and acknowledge the final score. No changes will be made once this has been signed off.

3. As this is a competitive league structure with prizes at stake, in the spirit of fairness all teams who win their division will be promoted to the next division at the start of the new season (if a higher division exists). Teams who finish last in their respective teams’ divisions will also be related to a lower division (if a lower division exists). Please note no exceptions will be made.

4. Games may be called off due the lighting storms, if there is 5 min or less left on the clock ofnthe game then the result will stand alternatively the game will be rescheduled.

5. Management may call off any game if deemed necessary for safety and health reasons and the game result would be determined depending on the circumstances.

Cancellations/No pitch:

Cancellations of games are discouraged but exceptions will be made in emergencies. You are required to notify the club if you will be able to make your game or not before 24 hours of your kick-off during the game week in question. If no effort is made to notify the club of your absence, you will be required to still pay your game fee for that game and will therefore forfeit the game and the points on offer. Makeup games can be played at the sole discretion of management.

  1. All fixtures are maintained on our website.
  2. It’s your responsibility as captain to make sure all players are aware of the fixture times. Please ensure you use the whatsapp link sent to you for the updated fixture times. This is important as fixture times can change during the course of the season.
  3. Games start promptly at the specified time, and each 2-minute delay results in a goal for the opposition. Please inform your players regarding this rule.
  4. Only 1 reschedule per season is allowed, and this must be made 24hrs before the game. No further fixture changes will be allowed for the season. Please note you may not reschedule the first or last game of the season.
  5. The start time for postponed games may vary from original time slot.
  6. If you and your team cancel on the day or do not show up, you will be liable for full payment (R400) and lose the game 10-0 and lose the points on offer.
  7. Should your team forfeit or reschedule you will no longer be eligible for prizes at the end of the season.
  8. If your opponent’s forfeit or reschedule you will be offered a friendly at a discounted rate.
